Shipping Method updated incorrectly when change delivery method

Hi there,

I found Magento 2.3, 2.4 have problem to update shipping cost when change shipping method. We use cart rule to calculate shipping fee base on order amount.

In the video, "Best Method" is free for any order, the other method need > $300 for free.

I observe the following when the product does not change in cart.

1. Select "Best Method", the shipping fee is 0. Refresh the page, all Shipping Method become "0".
2. Select any other method, shipping fee is $30. Refresh the page, all Shipping Method become "30". Even some of them is not $30 ("SF station pickup" = $60)
3. The amount in Shipping Method is not the same to "Order Summary".
   Order summary seems check the cart rule during it applies. But the Shipping Method do not update. (I use extension call Bss Custom Shipping Method "bsscommerce/custom-shipping-method" to make more Flat rate available.). Not sure if this caused the problem.

Do one thing disable the module bsscommerce/custom-shipping-method and check if its cause the issue. If not then write an email to BSS about this that their module is causing shipping related issue.

It doesn't related to the third party module. 

The same issue happens on Flat Rate, Table rate built in delivery method.

I will try to add custom shipping module.

This problem could be caused by the custom module on your website. You can disable two modules: the shipping module and one step checkout module and try out the default Magento features.

I did disabled one step checkout to test and it have same problem too.

For shipping module, I tried to use flat rate & fix amount also have same problem too.

I think it may be magento core problem.

I checked in my environment (magento version 2.4.1) and found that core module is working correctly on my side. Chances are you've configured something missing or your custom module has overwritten core functionality and caused an error.

HI Marcus,

Not only in my environment has error. I found similar issue on some extension vendor test environment. Major problem is the shipping charger changed to all same amount on Shipping Charge section. But when click/select the shipping method, then correct charger shown in Payment summary. It's very strange.
