Very serious issue - MD5 Hash no longer available in authorize.net, so I cannot process credit cards

I am trying to set up a new Magento 2 installation to process payments through my authorize.net account however there is no longer an option to get an MD5 hash from authorize.net, therefore it appears that authorize.net is not going to work with Magento!

Are there any plans to update the code to fix this?
