Web Setup Wizard / Back up fails

When I would like to update an extension via the Web Setup Wizard, I get an error message when it is trying to back up the installation. I have tried it several times, but every time it will not back up.

I can back up the system also via other options, but how can I solve this issue within the web setup wizard? Because it worked in the past. Maybe there is a setting which I have to change?

I had a similar issue while working on a site for an Acting Talent Publicity agency turns out the backup directory permissions had changed after a server update.
