Why is Klarna pre-installed on Magento 2.3 when Klarna doesn't support it?

Little to my knowledge, the developers from Klarna told me their only compatible version of Klarna is for Magento 2.5 and below. This is coming from email correspondence from Klarna themselves.

So my question is, in the process of developing the new Magento versions, why did someone think it was convenient to add Klarna as a payment option to Magento versions which doesn't support it?

My issue with this is that there's no clear and direct information about this unless you dig for information like me. Leaving many developers to spend the time they could've saved if they had known about this.

Need to add: I'm talking about Klarna checkout module. When you enable the API credentials and setup everything correctly, the checkout does not show at all, due to being incompatible with Magento versions over 2.5
