No I'm still having the same issue.

I've removed the site and dropped the database and going to start again.

I'm sure I'll run into the same problem.

I got to the stage of migrating the settings but then run in to trouble with the site/s not being found.

Something from the stores and websites tables must be causing it but no matter what I do, nothing seems to fix it.

Do you think I should set up the stores after reinstalling Magento and then trying to migrate would have any impact?

Hello @Andy_Acute ,

Yes, you can setup the website and stores after the re-installation, but  should be same website_id and store_id as per magento 1 database.
OR
You can move manually move the stores tables from magento 1.
store_website
store_group
store.

 

NOTE : Can you arrange any separate instance for me, so that, i can do migration on it.
