Hi Guys,
I have a coupon website that is designed and developed in WordPress. Besides coupons, I want to build a store section for my website, where I can add different products.
As Magento empowers thousands of retailers and brands. So I have some questions regarding Magento.
1) What are the pros and cons of Magento vs Shopify?
2) Why is Magento the best platform for E-Commerce?
3) What is the best responsive Magento theme?
4) Which are the best Magento development companies?
Shopify is Software as a Service (SaaS). In essence, you rent a Shopify site. You have to use Shopify payments to accept money (or pay a penalty fee). You get access to Shopify Apps, which are generally black-box (not as flexible around your business needs).
Magento is open-source. It requires more technical knowledge but offers more ownership and flexibility in return. It also requires more maintenance, as you're responsible for installing security patches and software updates.
Magento is generally best for complex eCommerce sites, and for medium and enterprise businesses. Shopify is more often chosen by startups and SMB businesses, and simple retail businesses that don't require as much complexity.
Magento is extremely robust and highly flexible. That's why so many developers and businesses swear by it. It's the platform of "Yes! You can do that!"
Magento 2 comes with the Luma theme off-the-shelf. Using Luma helps you to avoid conflicts with Magento software updates, and with Magento Extensions, which are generally tested with Luma but not with all 3rd party themes. One theme, which adds functionality to Luma, is the Pearl Theme from WeltPixel. It's a bit on the pricier side, but I've heard good things.
Magento has a list of partners that are includes some great web development agencies. There are also lots of great agencies that don't pay partner fees, but that build and maintain many Magento websites. I partner with a large number of them, and think very highly of many agencies. There are a variety of factors for why I would recommend one over another in a particular circumstance. Some of it would have to do with your target market, your project, and your budget. Feel free to direct message me if you'd like to chat.
Here are a couple of articles that could help you to find a good Magento agency:

Not to confuse things, but I would add that if you're already on WordPress, there are other options that are worth mentioning. WooCommerce is a plugin for WordPress that adds eCommerce functionality to WordPress. It's not as robust or scalable as Magento, but it's open-source and popular. BigCommerce is a SaaS solution, like Shopify, but has an existing plugin allowing you to connect it with WordPress as well. I'm a huge Magento proponent, but if you're just adding you're just testing out eCommerce on your site for the first time, it might be overkill. It's not a quick or simple deployment.
Best of luck!
Hi Robert Rand,
It seems that you have an extra ordinary knowledge in Magento, Shopify and WordPress. Thanks for your detailed information about my last discussion. As my website https://www.coupongot.com/ is developed in WordPress. And for that you have suggested me WooCommerce plugin. I will have a look on this. But since I do not trust on WordPress Plugins. As they are not reliable. So I am looking for some other shopping cart to manage my store.

Above I have explained the difference between Magento and Shopify. That would help you choose the right platform for your business.
Hello.
1. Magento offers more customization in the web site, but also requieres more technical knowledge set it up and maintence, and is a great choice for enterprises e-commerce sites who can pay for technical support. Shopify does not requiere great technical knowledge and is a great option for begginers in e-commerce sites.
2. Magento is an open source CMS for e-commerce with a big community, a market place for download themes and extensions, and two editions to choose: a Community Edition that is free version and an Enterprise Edition that is a payment version.
3. There are a lot of themes, and it depends of the designer to choose the best option for the site.
4. There are a lot of companies that develop for Magento so it is difficult to say which one is the best.
I hope this can help.
