Yes they are allowed.

Have you gotten them to work yet, Kalen?  I tried a while back and mine apears to be gettig lopped off. (at least when I view them, no sure what you're seeing when you view my sig....)  It isn't a big deal but I saw you officially asked this and figtured I'd see what you managed to accoplish on this front given my complete lack of success in the area

It should work fine but it if your signature is too long, it will get lopped off as we recommend no more than a few lines at most so as to not clutter up the forum.
