changing the tax rates

Hello Everyone,

my name is Kiki and I am new here I am trying to change the tax percentage in the back end of my website and unfortunately it does not appear to be possible. Does anyone have any insight? I am using a very old version of Magento: Magento ver. 1.9.3.1

Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately, I need to change the percentage of tax charged and I do not see where I can do this in the backend. I operate out of Germany and the law here requires vendors to reduce our taxes from 19% to 16%. I assumed that I could do this very easily in the backend but I cannot seem to access where the change can be made. 

Do you have any additional insight?

Can you please check to edit your tax calculation percentage on below location:

Step 1 − Login to Magento Admin Panel.

Step 2 − Go to Sales menu → Tax and click on the Manage Tax Zones & Rates option.

Step 3 - Under the Manage Tax Rates window, Edit the existing Tax Rate Rule and edit the percentage.

I understand you are using Magento 1.9.3.1 and are trying to change the tax percentage in the backend without success.

Since Magento 1.9 is a very old version, the options for modifying tax rates are limited compared to newer versions. However, there are a couple things you can try:

• Navigate to System > Configuration > Sales > Tax and edit the tax rates shown there. This allows you to change the default tax rate.
• If your store has multiple tax rules already configured, you will need to edit each rule individually to update the rates. Go to Sales > Tax > Manage Tax Zones and Rates and edit the percentage value for each rule.
