I'm not sure that this could be done out of the box. In terms of achieving that functionality, I would consider looking at grouped products and customising the display on the frontend to group options together and add dependencies based on your own logic.

Could you share a screenshot of your tax configuration settings in System > Configuration > Tax (http://docs.magento.com/m1/ce/user_guide/tax/tax-settings-general.html). These will affect how tax and discounts are applied. If you can provide some context on the tax rates being charged, that would also be useful. Thanks.

I don't believe the category endpoints support filtering/search. You're best bet is either going to be finding a product and getting the categories from that or using the category tree endpoint: http://devdocs.magento.com/guides/m1x/api/soap/catalog/catalogCategory/catalog_category.tree.html

Having all the code sitting on NFS is a setup I'm only familiar in development environments and it is slow, even with caches enabled. I know you/the sysadmins said otherwise but there's not much you can do to Magento on NFS up so if you want this setup then I'd recommend deploying code to each app server and just using NFS for shared writable directories like media.

Few things I can think of to check: Does the rest of the page function correctly? Do the products still look configured correctly in the admin area? Does the dropdown function, it's empty, or is it broken? Do you have any extensions in place that modify products functionality that you could disable briefly to see if they are affecting it? Can you check the Magento and PHP logs for any errors

The typical way to do this would be to set the main price at the price of the cheapest item. Then set the price on each item as the price difference between the main/base price of the cheapest. E.g. if items cost 3, 5 and 7. Set the base price to 3 and then mark each item as 0, 2, and 4 on top of the base price.

Are you able to manually check the files where the hunk fails and compare with what the patch is expecting to find. You should be able to find why the patch hasn't been applied. If it's only a small change, then you may be able to manually correct before applying the patch again.

My guess would have been permissions which is what you were investigating. What happens when you load the page, you get cache image URLs but they 404? Are all the directories in the path executable? Did you make the 777 change recursively from media downwards?

It may be that the indexes are reporting as processing but aren't actually. You can reset the indexing process with: php bin/magento indexer:reset and then run them again to see if that resolves your issue.

It's common for a "possible issues" thread to arise upon each patch. It's early days yet for many people to have tried patching but I'd recommend checking for updates on here: https://magento.stackexchange.com/questions/203567/security-patch-supee-10415-possible-issues In the mean time, could you manually expect the patch for the files that failed and see if you can identify why it didn't patch your code? Are the lines that it expecting in the clean version of the latest version of magento that you've just upgraded to?

Magento doesn't support migrating passwords out of the box. I've not seen this before but it sounds like your site has been customised by a developer or extension to show the config path in the admin view. This is the path that is the key in the database (in core_config_data) for saving configuration settings. I don't think it's anything to worry about.

This isn't the incorrect include path. You'll notice that the lines before add some new paths to the php include paths, including 'app/code/core'. So this line isn't broken. Would you be able to share more on the symptoms on your original problem?

@WilderGlass It does sound like you need to change your web server configuration. PHP command line is separate from PHP through the web server and you can quite easily run two different PHP versions this way. This is proved by your useful debugging. I don't know what you're hosting set up is but you will need to check how PHP is configured and make sure that it's using a newer version of PHP to be compatible with Magento.

I think it's just logging the "absolute" file path rather than a relative one. Based on what you've said about where code is and where you're running it, it sounds like the right path. When you run the command, is this full error message or is there more? That filename does seem invalid because it's only a directory. [Migration\Exception] Invalid map filename: /home/esposup/public_html/vendor/magento/data-migration-tool/

I think whether the number is displayed is whether the category has layered navigation enabled or not. It is layered navigation/filters that would show the numbers within each category I believe. This is normally turned on and off using the Is Anchor option.

Magento 2 only supports IE 11 and later, so it may/will not work in compatibility mode which is simulating older browser versions. See http://devdocs.magento.com/guides/v2.0/install-gde/system-requirements_browsers.html

Are you running this command from this location /home/esposup/public_html/? This should be the root of your Magento 2 installation as well as where you installed the data migration too.
