Hi, and welcome to Magento.   Yes, I don't think it's going to be easy to find this information. I don't know that I've seen any public stress tests to test the limits of Magento 2. It would be difficult to do because it depends on so many factors. It's hard to test the number of categories alone and what specific problems you might run into with a large number. It also depends on what kind of server you run as a bigger server will often hide those weaknesses ;)    If that's a core project risk for you, I would recommend getting Magento 2 installed and writing a script to generate a large number of test categories at the depth that you expect and see how it functions.    Once you have your setup, the best tool for finding and optimising for weaknesses and customising your setup is probably Blackfire. ... Sorry, I'm not sure what that could be.  This extension appears to override the file storage model so in theory anything that tries to be written to file would be written to s3 instead so from that I'd expect it to write the cache files in s3 too.    You're probably going to need to get a developer involved to look at it more closely I'm afraid.  ... I don't believe that's correct @bootsgrid. You don't have to upgrade to 1.8 or 1.9 first. You can go straight to the latest patch release of 1.9. Magento will cope with all of the upgrade paths. The latest version will have most of the security patches pre-packaged into it. You should check magento.com/security and the downloads page for more info about which patches will still be relevant https://magento.com/tech-resources/download. Magento doesn't out of the box support customer-specific catalog requirements. If you're on enterprise edition, you might be able to build these requirements into an extension that builds on top of the category permissions functionality http://docs.magento.com/m1/ee/user_guide/catalog/category-permissions.html this allows certain customer groups to view certain categories. I could forsee a process which creates a customer group for each customer and then creates and manages a category (tree0 which is only visible to that customer group with products assigned to it based on their purchase history. A project risk would be how well this scales to a large number of categories/customers.   A similar feature available for purchase for community edition is https://amasty.com/customer-group-catalog.html but this would suffer from the same project risk.    The alternative way to look at it would add a list of allowed customers on each product. So it seems now the CSS URLs get a Magento 404:     As you rightly say, this suggests that the webserver can't access the css files, it's not that the mime type is incorrect. That would either because the files or the directories above them don't have the right permissions or the .htaccess isn't being read. Is AllowOverrides on if you're using apache? So does the paypal button shown on the product page and in the cart, but not in the actual checkout? I don't this is possible out of the box. Magento only allows one coupon code per promotion rule and each promotion rule only provides one set of conditions on when it should apply. This means you can't set the free shipping to be applicable in one situation but the percentage discount in another situation.    It seems like there's a reasonably small change to Magento required that will allow you to create two separate rules with the same coupon code but there is some risk there as I haven't tried this myself: https://magento.stackexchange.com/a/80547/26.  ... I'd say that was covering up the issue rather than fixing it. While I recommend using a full page cache plugin or Varnish, you're still going to have a large number of cache "misses", i.e. pages that Magento has to serve without using the cache.
