Magento Speaker Directory
I'm often approached by event organizers looking for speakers for their event. Because of this, we've put together a Magento Speaker Directory that you can sign up for whether you're a speaker, you'd like to be a speaker, or you're organizing an event. Please don't feel under-qualified to join here, there are also experienced speakers looking for less experienced speakers to mentor and we'd love to get some fresh faces out there! Register here.
Diversity & Inclusion Working Group
There was great discussion around diversity and inclusion in the Magento community, largely sparked by Carmen Bremen's article: Again „Diversity“? About the question of whether the „visibility“ of women requires support …, in fact after several mentions, Alessandro Ronchi shared his simple recipe for increasing diversity in tech conferences. For now this settled into a #diversity-inclusion channel on the Community Engineering Slack instance (please join us there!), but stay tuned for more information and definitely reach out to me if this is a topic you're passionate about or eager to get involved in. (Step one for us is on-boarding more diversity into the Speaker Directory mentioned above.)
