Magento 2.x Feature Requests and Improvements

When using configurable products based on two or more attributes that make up the simple products, the layered navigation ignores the stock status.   This problem allready existed in M1 and remains in M2.   Sample: Configurable products has 4 simple products (no backorders allowed, do not display out of stock items): Shirt-Black-S Qty 2 Shirt-Black-M Qty 2 Shirt-Red-S Qty 2 Shirt-Red-M Qty 0 (sold out)   When a users filters layered navigation on color Black and Size M they will still get the configurable product even though the Red M is sold out.   Would be so nice if the layered navigation index would handle this correctly. ... We have a Adobe Commerce Instance with multi brand and multi country stores, and we share the same product catalogo accros de stores and also the same category tree.   And we need the feature to sort products on the categories in the diferent way for each website.   For example we have the website A and de website B in the same instance, and we have the same category tree for these two website and also share the same products.   We need sort the products on category TVs, and we have the procuts with codes 10001 and 10002, we need put first the product  10001 for the website A, and put first the product 10002 for the website B.   Now the sort on categories is global.   If you need more information please let me know.   Thank you. ... We are using the magento 2.3.3 version with multiwebsite setup also we are using the MSI concept for inventory management. We came to following scenario where both websites are using same SKUs and handling for backorder is different on each website. Ex: website1 - Allow backorder website 2 - Not allow backorder Since by using MSI concept  the inventory can be handled at website level, it would be good to provide an option in core magento that backorder feature also can be handled at website level instead of global level.  Appreciate if you can pick this idea and provide a path or implement in future releases. Hi Team,   We are showing out of stock products,  and in the case of configurable products price is not displayed if all children are out of stock even if Display Out of Stock Products is set to "yes".    Can we have an option to display price for these type of products?   Thanks SJ ... View more

Since we are using the associated products/images feature of Magento. Is there a way for each of the enabled associated items to automatically show under the default image on the product page. Currently we are adding the image to the associated items and to the grouped item. Then when we need to disable an item we have to disable the item and also remember to remove the image from the Grouped item. Which requires double the admin on the products. Thanks! ... View more

As a new user of M2.2, I am surprised that there is no direct link from the Dashboard, or from within the /Catalog/ and /Content/ menus, to open the Media Storage interface. Other solutions (e.g. Joomla) have a "Media Manager" link displayed on the Dashboard which allows an Admin User to manage and curate the media uploaded and used within the project - either Product Images, Videos etc. or for Page Content.   It seems slightly daft that the only way I can upload an image from within the Dashboard, is to open a web page or product page for editing, then click the 'Insert Image' icon in the Editor's toolbar to launch the 'Insert Image' interface, in order to browse for and insert media files.   Surely it would be a simple task to create a discrete link to the Media Storage interface, either directly from the left-hand menu or from within the slide-out menus for both of the following interfaces:   Catalog Content ... Problem: Store managers enter products in admin and accidently hit or copy in a space before or after the SKU.   When doing mass updating or importing the SKUs do not match and may cause duplicate problems.   Solution:   Trim whitespace on SKU upon saving and importing.   Same solution would be viable for product names. ... I have a B2B Magento 2 site within the EU   Currently Magento only has the options to show the prices: Including Tax Excluding Tax Including Excluding Tax If you have a B2B shop the cusomers have to pay the VAT if they are located in the same country as the shop, and pay 0% VAT if the customer is located outside the country of the shop.   So the price excluding VAT is much more important than the price including VAT.    Google Shopping requires to show the prices prices including VAT.   Please add the Excluding Including Tax option to the price options. Magento 2.2.1 with 3 store view / languages In product ID 192, the product has a color option with 20 color value, and I have translated it for 3 different store view / languages In default store view: In French store view: In product ID 191, the product has the same custom options like in product 192. I click on import options in Customizable Options in default store view, and import it from product ID 192, then save. And then, I changed to French store view, the value should be in French as I translated in product ID 192, but all be covered by default value. And I tried to import it in French store view, but the value also be covered by default value.   So, for multi language site, import custom option should import with different store view, that will be much easier to add products. ... We are using "Match products by rule" in Categories and whenever we add any new products it is not assigned to categories in which we are using "Match products by rule". When we manually go and save categories then it assigns products. But in M1 EE products are assigned to category by smart merchandising cron, but in M2 we haven't find any cron timing tab to schedule such cron. I have an configurable product for example T-Shirts in size small, medium and large. And all have same price and we have tier price like: Buy 10 for 5.50 and save 10% Buy 20 for 5.00 and save 20%   Now a customer buys 5 medium T-Shirts and 10 large. So he has total 15 articles of this T-Shirt. Default Magento is now only take tier price of 10 large T-Shirts, but not for 5 medium T-Shirts.   It would be really nice to have option for product to set "use total amount of child products for tier price".   martin ... This is more of a demand than a suggestion, because it's total madness that this is not standard. How has this simple thing, that is so important, been overlooked by Magento?   I'm creating a multivendor marketplace using Magento2 for fashion retailers.    In the world of fashion (and many other retail avenues) have all kinds of odd names for their colours, to make them sound more exciting for buyers.    However in Magento2, when creating a configurable product using attributes, when choosing colours you can only see the colour name, not the swatch of the colour. Why the hell would Magento leave such a simple thing out?!   How on earth are vendors supposed to know the variant shades between the colour names, if they cannot see the colours?!     Just look at that! ...It's pathetic.   I'm not sure this should even be a suggestion, if the Magento team see this post, you should just get this sorted because it's total madness.   I've sunk a lot of money into building this with Magento2 so far, but to have this simple thing have such a detrimental effect at this stage ...Just shame on Magento for having overlooked this.   I've seen posts for this dating back to 2016, it's now November 2017. When working with products regarding store context, there is inconsistency among Quote, Order and Invoice and Shipment items regarding the getProduct() method.   The best implementation as of 2.1.7 is Magento\Quote\Model\Quote\Item\AbstractItem.php, where it supplies store id in the context of the quotation.   I suggest that the model of Order and Invoice should follow such practise when getting product from underlying items, since developer expects a certain level of API consistency.   I can make PRs if everyone agrees. ... Problem is when thirdparty system wanted to update product's inventory then they require to send API call to update each products. So it calls cache flush method everytime that uses too much memory if thirdparty wanted to update 100o skus.   So I would suggest if have API call to update stock inventory which accepts skus in batch then it saves CPU memory. ... Hi, We are using Live Search on Adobe Commerce 2.4.7. Right now the merchandizing rules are really limitative in terms of how we can manually add rules to sort products in a PLP or a Search Result page. We can only Boost / Bury / Pin / Hide a product by SKU, which is not really useful and really time consuming when we need to merchandize large catalogs.
