Hi,   My idea is within the checkout allow for a place for tax exempt customers to enter their tax exempt number. This could be tied to a customer group that doesn’t charge tax so either the customer wouldn’t get charged tax instantaneously or after verification (this would be up to the admin). This is more of a demand than a suggestion, because it's total madness that this is not standard. How has this simple thing, that is so important, been overlooked by Magento?   I'm creating a multivendor marketplace using Magento2 for fashion retailers.    In the world of fashion (and many other retail avenues) have all kinds of odd names for their colours, to make them sound more exciting for buyers.    However in Magento2, when creating a configurable product using attributes, when choosing colours you can only see the colour name, not the swatch of the colour. Why the hell would Magento leave such a simple thing out?!   How on earth are vendors supposed to know the variant shades between the colour names, if they cannot see the colours?!     Just look at that! ...It's pathetic.   I'm not sure this should even be a suggestion, if the Magento team see this post, you should just get this sorted because it's total madness.   I've sunk a lot of money into building this with Magento2 so far, but to have this simple thing have such a detrimental effect at this stage ...Just shame on Magento for having overlooked this.   I've seen posts for this dating back to 2016, it's now November 2017. Please add configuration option to enable and force 2 or 3 character sets in passwords for backoffice users. This option exists for consumer accounts for webusers but not for backoffice users. Hi, I'm developing a magento 2.1.7 store on my localhost. After logging into my admin and changing the full page cache from the default to the recommended varnish. I cannot login into the admin part of the store. When I try to, I get this error page   There has been an error processing your request Exception printing is disabled by default for security reasons. Error log record number: 2076606110   I have no idea what is going on. I can however view the store on my localhost. I just can't login to the admin.    Thanks ... View more

When we do a bulk update for product/categories, partial indexers start the data indexing process in the background (when using the index on schedule mode). We need to wait for those indexing process to complete to see the product/category updates on the front-end.  For an admin user, there is no way to check the state of the indexing process, ex: % completed, error encountered etc. This is a suggestion to include an admin area to visualize the state of the partial indexing processes, so admin users don't need to contact devs to check the state of the indexers by querying DB. ... One of the biggest complaints we get from customers is the generic error message "An error occurred on the server. Please try again", that displays in the checkout when their credit card cannot be accepted. Usually there's an issue where the billing and shipping address or zip code doesn't match, so the card is not accepted.   The problem is the error message states there is "an error on the server" which leads them to believe there is something wrong with the website-when that is not the case, there is something wrong with what they've inputted. Another type of generic message like "We could not place this order, please call (store's phone number) to complete" would work infinitely better. Even better, would be a way to customize your own error message in the checkout right in the admin panel.    Overall I think this simple change would help the customer understand that the order could not be processed, but there isn't a problem with the website or server. ... Our website like many, many others charges customer credit cards when they order therefore automatically creating an Invoice.  Our customers can change their order before shipment so we need ability to edit the Invoice in exactly the same way as editing an Order.   To take this one step farther, it would also be nice if the original Total Price could be tracked so that when the Invoice is edited, the delta charge/refund amount is shown and can be charged or refunded to the credit card. ... I'm trying to import 250 tax rates, but it only imports 200 of them and then shows the message: 'One of the countries has invalid code'. It would be better feedback if Magento tells us which country / countries these are. ... View more

first of all let me tell you the Magento order flow its very hard to understand and of course hard to use because its time consuming  we wont something easy and efficient. here is the scenario, there is wholesale company  with 80 + employees ? does that sound familiar? magento has the option to create users and set permissions for users that its okay. but this built in feature has to be extended to make it useful here is how: on the admin page when new customers are registered admin should b e able to assign an admin user (employee) for this customer this admin user will handle all  inquires including orders and support  for this customer that means that this user will also apper on the order grid in the admin     attached is a picture of what I mean, Mr. Magento should do it as default if they want to be at the top of the ecommerce  tire of this Im tirded of this mage thing and looking for the real new era of commerce!   feature request for orders #1 able to edit orders without creating a new one this should be a default in magento. customer order 10 items but then change hes mind he only needs 5 magento "edit" creates a new order wtf? customer card was declined new card is available how to update without creating a new order uh? customer order overnight shipping but the shipping its not avaiilabe for that region need to be changed how to change that without creating a new order uh?   #2 able to print packing slip without changing order status the order has been received but payment has not, its a large order  that takes time to prepare (package) but the packing slip can't be printed unless there is an invoice wtf?   #3 able to issue a discount on order total (coupons sucks) the total its $10,000 i want to issue $800.00 discount or 8% discount how does your magento handles that ah??   #4 able to add  and change payment status (invoice status) lets say card was declined  how does magenta handles that? ... processing status... but there is a lot more orders in the same status its time consuming to  look for it  #5 able to take partial payments lets say the invoice its $100,000 customer deposit 60 % of the invoice the balance its $40,000 how to handle that in magento ah?   ...
