What an incredible month! November saw final beta work for 2.3.0 and GA releases for multiple release lines.  Magento 2.3.0 was released on November 28^th with an amazing list of new features and a massive amount of quality improvements provided by the community.

With a holiday in the US (Thanksgiving), this week’s report/newsletter covers two weeks! We’ve had an eventful end to November with the GA release of 2.3.0, 2.2.7, 2.1.16, and M1 security patches. New features also rolled out with significant Community Engineering development and support including MSI Inventory Management, GraphQL, PWA Studio, and Core issue fixes and additions!

During the month of October, we saw the return of Squashtoberfest. For the whole of October, communities around the world united to show some love for their favorite GitHub repositories. The Magento community was no different. We saw a total of 796 pull requests created over all of our repositories and a total of 99 known issues fixed by our community and partners.

We also saw incredible support and contributions through many independently organized Contributor Days and events, with many first-time contributors joining veteran contributors and maintainers alike.

Time to get prepared! On Tuesday,  November 28, Magento plans to release Magento 2.3.0  delivering new features, security updates, performance enhancements, and support for PHP 7.2. We also plan to release updates for Magento  1,  2.1, and 2.2  on the same day. These releases include important security enhancements, and it is recommended to prepare to update your Magento versions promptly.

Last week was busy and filled with incredible work and updates by contributors, maintainers, and partners! We held a livestream with Squashtoberfest updates and showcased MSI. Many projects completed milestones and achieved some amazing feats, including GraphQL hitting its 100th PR! And MMJP 2018 had some great Translations work and submissions. September saw a high number of contribution days which provided a great way for our team to connect with the community of contributors and maintainers, and introduce new people to the process. We also saw a continuation of a high number of pull requests both being submitted and processed, with 438 created and 493 processed across all our repositories.

During the month of August, we saw incredible work and a higher numbers of PRs across all our Community Engineering projects and Magento 2. This month we saw 738 pull requests processed and 346 issues closed.
